Executive Function

The Executive Function tab reports on five cognitive skills that support children's ability to learn, focus, and manage their behaviour. These skills are measured through game-based tasks within Rumble's Quest, separate from the self-report wellbeing questions.

The five executive function skills are:

  • Spatial Span Working Memory — The ability to hold and work with information in mind

  • Inhibitory Control — The ability to control impulses and resist distractions

  • Cognitive Flexibility — The ability to shift thinking and adapt to new rules or situations

  • Attention Control — The ability to direct and sustain attention on a task

  • Focused Attention — The ability to maintain concentration over time

Here's an overview of the Executive Function reporting group.
