Preparing Your People

Before launching Rumble's Quest, you'll need to prepare three groups: staff, parents, and children.
Staff
Run a staff information session before your first Quest Block. Cover:
What Rumble's Quest is, a wellbeing measurement tool, not a recreational game
Why you're using it, how it fits with your school or organisation's wellbeing framework
Their role, supervising sessions, helping children with setup, maintaining a calm environment
What happens with the data, how reports will be generated and who will see them
Resources to share with staff:
Rumble’s Quest Staff Briefing Guide, a practical overview covering what Rumble's Quest is, their role, and what happens with the data
Rumble's Quest Flyer, a general overview of Rumble's Quest
Parents
Follow your organisation's standard protocols for notifying parents and managing consent.
When communicating with parents, it helps to explain:
What Rumble's Quest is and why your school or organisation is using it
That the game measures wellbeing, not academic performance
How data will be used and who will have access
That individual responses are confidential
Resources available:
Parent information video: realwell.org.au/parents, a short video designed to support your consent process
Sample consent form: Download template, which you can adapt to suit your school or organisation
Children
Rumble's Quest is presented as a video story designed to make children feel comfortable and in control as they play. The game provides an intuitive, self-guided experience, so explicit instructions and adult facilitation are generally unnecessary.
Providing the right environment and clear guidance is the best way to ensure accurate data. Children should play under supervised conditions, but setting things up so they feel free to play without interruption, or the feeling of being "watched", helps them be more at ease and open in their responses.
